Step #5

Water Recreation Facility (WRF) Builder Requests Final Pre-Occupancy Inspection

When construction is complete, the builder or other owner representative must request a pre-occupancy inspection from the health district. Requests should be made one week in advance (five working days) to allow for scheduling.

IMPORTANT NOTE: It is the Water Recreation Facility representative’s responsibility to request inspections. The building department DOES NOT automatically forward requests for pre-occupancy inspections to the health district.

Prior to the pre-occupancy inspection, per WAC 246-260-021(6) a construction report from the engineer or architect certifying that the facility was constructed according to the plans must be submitted. A copy of the form can be found here.

Call 509.324.1560, ext.4 (or the individual pool inspector if known) to request a pre-occupancy inspection.
