After the building department issues a building permit, construction can proceed. During the construction process, copies of construction meeting minutes and any change orders must be emailed to the health district. This allows the health district to identify any proposed changes that may impact student health and safety; it also helps the health district plan for upcoming pre-occupancy inspections.
Health district inspectors may also visit the school during construction in order to assess any related student health or safety concerns, particularly when school is in session adjacent to the construction site.
