While MRC of Spokane County stands ready to respond to emergency events ranging from disaster response to disease outbreaks, volunteer efforts do not stop there. MRC volunteers share their knowledge and skills at various community events and trainings as well.
The Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) of Spokane County is part of the national network of MRC volunteers. Spokane County MRC volunteers support and improve the health and safety of their communities and play an active role during emergency preparedness and response efforts, providing added capacity for medical workers and first responders when needed.
Operations and maintenance (O&M) providers are permitted annually by the health district. In accordance with WAC 246-272A-0340, on-site sewage system O&M providers must obtain approval from the local health officer prior to providing services within a local health jurisdiction.
SRHD’s Opioid Treatment Program provides medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD), counseling, group therapy, and medical care for people seeking recovery from opioids.
The Water Recreation Program protects public health by working with owners and operators of public and semi-public water recreation facilities to prevent drowning, illnesses and injuries. Approximately 194 seasonal and 78 annual facilities in Spokane County are permitted and inspected at least annually for compliance with state regulations.
