Wildfire smoke affecting local air quality

Air quality is currently in the Moderate/Yellow category, but is forecast to deteriorate to Unhealthy/Red category on the Air Quality Index. According to the Spokane Regional Clean Air Agency, smoke from regional wildfires, combined with poor overnight ventilation, is leading to worsening air quality. Conditions are forecast to decline from Wednesday afternoon through Thursday morning due to shifting winds and ongoing fire activity.

Spokane County Resident is Presumed to be Positive for Measles

A resident of Spokane County who was in an area previously identified for high-risk measles exposure and who is experiencing symptoms that are consistent with those of measles, is presumed to be positive for the highly contagious disease, according to local public health officials.

Aug. 27: Childhood and Adult Vaccine Clinic at Shaw Middle School

Vaccination event offering routine childhood vaccines and select adult vaccines. See the table below for available vaccines. This vaccination clinic is open to:

  • Adults ages 19 and older who do not have insurance
  • Children age 2-18 years, regardless of insurance coverage

No appointments. Walk-ins are welcome.

You will need to fill out a consent form for any individuals receiving vaccine at the event. To save time at the event, you may download, print and complete the demographic portion of the consent form for each individual receiving vaccine at this event and bring it with you. Please use the Child Consent Form for individuals who are under 19 years of age (0-18).
