Early Support for Infants and Toddlers (ESIT)

How ESIT Supports Your Family

Services start with an Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP). The plan has goals for your child and family, and it outlines services to help meet those goals. Services are provided in your child’s natural environment, like your home or child care.

Services are provided by an early intervention service provider. SRHD ESIT staff work with eligible families to select one of the early intervention service providers participating with the SRHD ESIT program, which include:

Family Resource Coordinator

Family Resource Coordinator

A family resource coordinator (FRC) working at the provider location will be assigned to ensure comprehensive developmental assessments and evaluations are completed. FRCs use these results to determine eligibility and help families access resources.

Families in ESIT work with their FRC to access services for their child. Services may include the following:

  • Speech therapy
  • Physical therapy
  • Occupation therapy
  • Special instruction
  • Vision and hearing
  • Audiology
  • Nursing
  • Health
  • Medical
  • Psychology
  • Social work
  • Assistive technology
  • Family training, counseling and home visit
  • Nutrition
  • Sign language/cued language
