Early Support for Infants and Toddlers (ESIT)

How is Eligibility Determined?

Children from birth to age 3 residing in Spokane County are eligible for early intervention services when:

  • A professional assessment has determined they have a 25% or more developmental delay for their age, or
  • They have a diagnosed physical or mental condition, such as hearing loss, vision impairment, Down syndrome, or a neurological disorder, with a high probability it may result in delayed development, or
  • They have a 1.5 standard deviation below their age in one or more developmental areas.

If you are not sure if your child is eligible for ESIT, call 509.324.1651. Your child will receive an evaluation that looks at their cognitive, motor, communication, social-emotional, self-help, vision, and hearing skills, at no cost to you.
