Spokane Regional Health District Board of Health Seeks New Members

SPOKANE, Wash. – Spokane County Board of County Commissioners seeks new applicants for three Spokane Regional Health District (SRHD) Board of Health positions.

The SRHD Board of Health is the governing body of SRHD, overseeing all matters of public health according to state law. The SRHD Board of Health creates and promotes health policy, ensures compliance with all applicable chapters of state law, adopts local ordinances and resolutions, and approves the agency budget.

Openings include a representative in the following sectors in Spokane County:

  • Public Health/Health Care Facilities/Provider Representative – 1 position
    Examples include epidemiologists, community health workers, those with experience in environmental public health, or employees of a hospital in Spokane County.
  • Consumer of Public Health Representative – 1 position
    Anyone who has used, currently uses, or will use public health services for themselves or a family member.
  • Community Stakeholder Representative – 1 position
    Must represent one of the following: the military, business community, environmental public health regulated community, or a community-based organization or non-profit that works with populations experiencing health inequities.

Terms last two years. Volunteers must be able to attend meetings on the last Thursday of each month and special meetings as needed.
