Birth and Death Certificate ​Service Interruption Notice

At noon on Dec. 30, 2020, Spokane Regional Health District will temporarily pause accepting birth and death certificate orders in order to implement system updates in accordance with a new vital records law and rules going into effect Jan. 1, 2021. Regular services will resume Jan. 1, 2021. To receive certificates before the end of the year, please note when orders must be submitted:

  • Mail-in certificate orders must be postmarked by Dec. 4, 2020. Certificate orders postmarked after Dec. 4, 2020 will be returned by mail.
  • Online and phone certificate orders must be submitted by noon on Dec. 30, 2020.

Starting Jan. 1 , 2021 the requirements for certificate orders will require new forms, fees, and additional documentation. On Jan. 1, 2021 this new information will be available on the Birth and Death Certificates page.


COVID-19 Hours and Services

During the response to COVID-19, Spokane Regional Health District Vital Records in-person service will be closed until further notice. Due to in-person services being closed, we are accepting phone orders in the interim. You can still access services through mail or online for internet orders until the service cutoffs listed above. If you have questions, you can call our office at 509.324.1601 during business hours 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. pacific standard time.
