Potential H1N1 Email Scam
H1N1 email circulating claiming to be from the CDC asking for personal information appears to be a hoax
The Spokane Regional Health District received word this week from the Washington State Department of Health about a potential email scam regarding H1N1 vaccinations and a request for personal information. The email appears to come from the CDC but instead points users to a fake website that may be phishing for personal information. Anyone receiving such an email should avoid clicking on any embedded links.
The Spokane Regional Health District does collect limited personal information when an H1N1 vaccine is administered. That information is kept under tight control. SRHD does not solicit information in this manner.
