It's National Public Health Week!
National Public Health Week (NPHW) 2023 is April 3-9! SRHD will be celebrating by focusing on the ways that different types of communities in our region support, promote, and protect health. Our theme for this year is “For the Love of Community.” Whether a community is based on ethnicity, interest, faith, location, or something else, it can provide support and well-being to its members. That’s why the staff at SRHD works so hard to support, collaborate with, and be active members of the many local communities we have.
Here are some ways you can join in on the celebration:
- On Thursday, April 6, SRHD will be hosting a National Public Health Week Leadership Panel from 2 to 4 p.m. at the SRHD College Avenue campus for invited guests. Click here to RSVP.
- If you’re out and about, you may see a few signs of NPHW around town. During NPHW, the SRHD logo will light up the night as it shines on multiple buildings downtown, including at the clock tower in Riverfront Park. You will also see banners and signs at the Spokane Valley Mall and at Riverpark Square, and a banner will also dress up SRHD’s College Avenue building during the month of April.
- Watch our Facebook Live event on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. where you can hear how Latinos En Spokane is an example of how communities come together to promote the health of their members.
- Do something in one of your communities to foster connection and support. You could check in on a neighbor, write a note of appreciation to somebody making an impact, or supply resources for those needing support.
