Before contacting Spokane Regional Health District (SRHD) to report environmental concerns, please review the following list for conditions or situations that are not investigated by the health district. Appropriate contact information is provided for each situation.
To report code violations regarding junk on property such as but not limited to accumulations of wood, abandoned/junk vehicles on private property (inoperable cars or car parts), appliances, and furniture, please contact your local Code Enforcement office.
For information on air quality forecast, burn ban status, demolition information, asbestos project, or business-related air emissions, please contact Spokane Regional Clean Air Agency.
To report a complaint regarding water quality issues related to point source and non-point source pollution and stormwater pollution, contact the Washington State Department of Ecology.
To report spills and discharges of pollutants into storm drains, contact your local stormwater municipality:
To report a spill of oil or hazardous materials, please contact your local fire department and the Washington State Department of Ecology.
To report a drinking water quality issue from a public water system, contact the Washington State Department of Health Office of Drinking Water.
To report a complaint involving pesticide use, misuse, drift, damage, storage, and disposal, contact the Washington State Department of Agriculture. Complaints related to human health are investigated by the Washington State Department of Health
To report a complaint about a place of employment, contact the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries.
To report a complaint about urban farming or domestic animals within the City of Spokane, contact the City of Spokane Code Enforcement office.

SRHD does not have the legal authority regarding living conditions within a private residence or landlord/tenant issues within a home or building and therefore cannot investigate these types of complaints.
