Spokane, Wash. – The Spokane Regional Health District (SRHD) Administrative Officer Dr. Amelia Clark informed the Board of Health (BOH) that she has accepted a new position out of state and therefore will not renew her contract which expires on Sept. 16, 2022. Clark was hired in 2019 with a three-year contract.
Mary Kuney, BOH chair, praised Clark’s leadership during her time at SRHD saying, “Dr. Clark will be missed. Her accomplishments while at the helm of SRHD have resulted in a health district that is managed efficiently, addresses security concerns, is fiscally responsible and transparent, all while continuing to keep our community’s health and safety a priority.”
Kuney explained the next step will be for the BOH to determine a transition plan and recruitment timeline. This process will begin at the next scheduled BOH meeting on June 30.
“Although we are sad to see Dr. Clark go, we are excited for her future,” Kuney said. “She was presented with a professional opportunity that she couldn’t pass on, and we wish her the very best.”
