SPOKANE, Wash. – With support from Spokane Regional Health District (SRHD), Discovery Health MD, contracted through Washington State Department of Health (DOH), is opening a drive-up community COVID-19 testing site on Monday, Oct. 18, at Spokane Falls Community College (SFCC), 3410 W. The drive-up site will be open Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m., and is located in SFCC’s main parking lot just off of W. Whistalks Way. Online registration for an appointment time is encouraged, but not required. The website for registering is

Health insurance will be asked for but is not required. There is no cost for the test.

Discovery Health MD will perform lab-based PCR (polymerase chain reaction) tests for anyone who has symptoms of COVID-19 or has been exposed to someone with COVID-19. Test results are usually available within 48-72 hours. Test results are delivered through a secure online portal. Individuals who test positive will receive a phone call.

Discovery Health MD’s Chief Growth Officer Daniel Pulse says they’re pleased to be able to bring their services and expertise to the area. Discovery Health MD is a Northwest company that provides COVID-19 testing and vaccination services to individuals, communities, and companies both directly and through partnership with state and local health organizations.

“We have been pushing for testing in various regions around the state. We know that some areas have seen extremely high positivity rates, and our teams are motivated to do what we can to increase access,” said Pulse.

SRHD requested assistance from DOH for COVID-19 testing in Spokane County a few weeks ago. Health Officer Dr. Francisco Velázquez explained with high transmission rates in our community and health care and public health resources already stretched, additional testing sites are necessary to alleviate the strain put on testing providers.

“We are thankful to have the support of Discovery Health MD and Spokane Falls Community College to help our community with much-needed COVID-19 testing,” Velázquez said. “These sites will give our community members easy access to testing and timely results.”

A second site is planned for the Spokane Valley. Details for the location are still being finalized and will be shared with the community as soon as they are available.
