Spokane County case counts and rates highlighted in red indicate that these figures exceeded the 5-year median for the respective disease.

Disease rates are reported per 100,000 population at risk. Population estimates used in rate calculations for Washington and Spokane came from the Washington State Office of Financial Management.

Detailed data for COVID-19 were not included in this dashboard. Please visit the Respiratory Illness dashboard for COVID-19-related emergency department visits, hospitalizations, deaths, long-term care outbreaks and wastewater surveillance.

Tuberculosis

Tuberculosis case counts on this dashboard include active tuberculosis disease cases. Latent tuberculosis infection cases are not reportable in Washington state.

Cases of notifiable conditions were included in this report if they met the following criteria:

• Resident of Spokane County, Washington state, or the United States

• Qualifying event dates were during the appropriate CDC Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) year (January 1 to December 31)

• Reported to DOH and/or the CDC and entered prior to each agency’s deadline for annual reporting

• Case reports entered into the Washington Public Health Issue Management System (PHIMS) or Washington Disease Reporting System (WDRS)

• Given a valid case classification by DOH as described in the guidelines for each condition – See the Washington State DOH List of Notifiable Conditions
