Charlie Durañona is a first-generation Cuban American and a disabled Veteran, having served in the US Navy as a Corpsman alongside the US Marine Corps for five years. He holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Eastern Washington University and a Master's in Business Leadership from Whitworth University. Currently, Charlie serves as the Chief of Community Relations for Fairchild AFB, fostering connections between the military base and the local community. Previously, Charlie served as the Outreach Coordinator for the VA Medical Center, where he worked tirelessly to support low-income Veterans and individuals experiencing homelessness, demonstrating his commitment to serving those in need.
Charlie met his wife, Joselynn, when they were both stationed in Parris Island Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD). Their daughter was born while stationed in Naples, Italy. After a few moves that took them from Alaska to Florida, they ultimately settled in Spokane, WA. They have lived here for 10 years. Charlie and his family love to travel and spend time with friends they now consider family.
