About World Breastfeeding Week

Held August 1-7 each year, World Breastfeeding Week shares the benefits of breastfeeding for the health and welfare of babies and breastfeeding parents. Breastfeeding provides health benefits for both parent and baby in the first six months of an infant’s life; this is why it is essential to address barriers to breastfeeding in the community. This year’s theme is “Closing the Gap: Breastfeeding support for all.”
