Council Member Waldref, SRHD on Council Connection
The next edition of “Council Connection,” the cable television program featuring Spokane City Council members as hosts, will be shown live, Wed., Sept 5, at 6 p.m. on CityCable 5. Council Member Amber Waldref , District 1, will host the program titled “Health Inequities in Spokane and How One Neighborhood is Making a Difference.”
The show will explore Spokane Regional Health District’s recently released report, “Odds Against Tomorrow: Health Inequities in Spokane County” and how one Spokane neighborhood, East Central, is addressing health inequities through a project called Neighborhoods Matter.
Guests are: Kim Papich – Public Information Officer, Spokane Regional Health District, Rowena Pineda – Program Manager, Neighborhoods Matter & Weaving Bright Futures, Spokane Regional Health District, and Nadine VanStone, Governance Council, Neighborhoods Matter.
For the first half hour, Council Member Waldref will be joined by Kim Papich of Spokane Regional Health District to discuss its health inequity report findings, with an emphasis on neighborhood-level data for Spokane. During the second half hour, Rowena Pineada of Neighborhoods Matters, and Nadine VanStone of Neighborhoods Matters Governance Council, will join Council Member Waldref to discuss the proactive measures that are already being taken in the East Central neighborhood.
