This year, the American Public Health Association’s National Public Health Week celebrates the ways that “we are all public health.” And it’s true: Everyone has a role in public health, and there is something that everyone can do to support the health of their community.
We each have the ability to take action to connect with our communities, look out for the safety of others, make sure the places we live and play are safe, and ensure that the air we breathe, and food and water we consume are safe.
Like the community at large, public health professionals’ work and areas of expertise differ widely, and while we are all public health, public health means something a little different to each of us. In honor of this special week, we are sharing what public health means to our team members, in six simple words.
During National Public Health Week 2024, we invite you to think about the ways that you are public health too!
