For more information on any of our laboratory services, please call (509) 324-1440.

  • Water Lab
    Homeowners and public providers from Washington and Idaho may bring in a water sample for a $33 test fee. Specimen collection bottles are supplied. We provide consultation on water quality, odor, taste, and contaminants. Water sample collection and testing services are also performed under contract for local public water system providers.
  • Clinical Lab
    We provide diagnostic testing, blood sampling, and test referral services for health care partners and Health District programs. Testing includes tuberculosis (TB) screening, TB culture, sexually transmitted diseases, HIV, and intestinal parasites.

  • Bioterrorism Lab
    We are also the only Regional Public Health Laboratory in eastern Washington that is federally certified to receive and test select agents of bioterrorism concern. We provide bioterrorism testing services for Eastern Washington and laboratory surge capacity for the State of Washington.

The Department of Health monitors all public water systems in Spokane County.

Environmental Public Health staff inspect new drinking water wells in Spokane County to assure they meet construction standards. Old or unused wells are inspected when taken out of service. Call 324-1560, ext. 6.
