Classes at the Health District

Food and Beverage Worker Classes – All food service employees in Spokane County who handle unwrapped foods or beverages are required to hold a current Washington State Food Handler Permit. Permit information.

HIV/AIDS Workshops for Healthcare Professionals – Several classes for health care professionals are available, including HIV Testing for Occupational Exposures, WA State HIV Testing & Counseling, HIV Testing for Obstetric Care, and HIV/AIDS Workshop for Health Care Professionals.

STARS Training and First Aid/CPR classes for Childcare Providers – On-site STARS training is available to childcare providers in all 11 competency areas and tailored to each provider’s needs. First Aid/CPR and Bloodborne Pathogens classes are also available (to childcare providers only). All classes require a minimum of 6 attendees - up to 25 attendees. Schedule your on-site trainings early to assure dates that best meet your needs. Tobacco Cessation Classes
Quit Smoking Classes – Free classes are available to adults and youth who want to quit using tobacco. Classes start weekly at different locations throughout Spokane County. Community Health Education and Resources (CHER) teaches the classes with financial support from the Spokane Regional Health District. Call (509) 232-8138 for a list of classes.
