Mission and Goals

Our Mission is to serve as the region’s public health leader and partner to promote and protect the community’s health.

Our Vision is a healthy community for all.

To reach our vision, the Spokane Regional Health District’s Goals are to:

  • Identify and respond to community health needs
  • Minimize environmental threats to health
  • Enhance disease surveillance and control
  • Perform prevention and early intervention activities with the community and vulnerable populations
  • Inform and educate the community to encourage healthy decisions
  • Engage in emergency preparedness and response
  • Reduce barriers to meet basic health needs
  • Ensure an effective and efficient local public health system

We intend to achieve these goals by 2010, in support of Healthy People 2010, the nation’s public health goals.
