Physical Activity

In 2005, 36% of Spokane County adults were overweight and another 23% obese, resulting in over half of adults at an unhealthy weight. In addition to helping maintain a healthy weight, regular physical activity reduces the risk of heart disease, diabetes, colon cancer, high blood pressure, and symptoms of anxiety and depression. The Health District's Physical Activity & Nutrition program promotes physical activity to battle obesity and improve the health of the community. Call 324-1530 to get involved, or for more information.
